NACSW 2014 Presentation Submission

Presenters Agreement

NACSW's convention niche, consistent with our association mission, is to provide workshops and poster sessions that equip conference participants to integrate Christian faith and professional social work practice. As such, we are primarily interested in workshop and poster submissions that are sensitive to the thoughtful integration of faith or spirituality and some aspect of social work practice.

I signify my agreement to the following: (please check all to continue)

If my/our presentation proposal is accepted, I/we agree - unless a bona fide emergency occurs - to:

  • be present at NACSW's Convention 2014 in Annapolis, Maryland
  • register for the convention by no later than October 17th, 2014 (at my/our own expense at the usual convention rate - acknowledging that no honorarium will be paid for my/our presentation)
  • make my/our presentation at the time selected by the Convention 2014 planning committee between November 6-8, 2014
  • provide at least 25 copies of handouts at no expense to the convention.

I understand that if I/we do not register for the convention by October 17th, 2014, my/our presentation may have to be removed from the convention program.

NACSW will make every effort to provide a data projector (for PowerPoint presentations) and a screen for all presenters at no cost, although we cannot guarantee we will be able to do so for every workshop. We are not, however, able to provide laptop computers, so please bring your own laptop if you wish to use a data projector in the workshop room for your presentation.

If I want to use any equipment for my presentation other than a data/LCD projector and screen (for example, overhead projector, connection to the Internet, laptop, computer speakers, CD player, dry erase board, flip chart, etc.), I understand I will have to contact the hotel AV department directly and make arrangements with them to pay for this equipment at my own expense.

Do you agree with all of the above statements?

I would like my Presentation to be considered for one or more of the following Formats: *

Either a workshop presentation or a poster presentation
I understand that selecting this option increases the chances of my proposal being selected.

Workshop Presentation Only
For examples of workshop sessions, go to: Workshop Examples

Poster Presentation Only

Presenters summarize their presentation information in visual representations for attendees to browse and to facilitate more informal discussion. NACSW will provide easels, and poster presenters bring information mounted on poster boards and/or handouts. For examples of poster sessions, go to: Poster Examples. NACSW is not able to provide poster boards.

If I am interested in my proposal being considered for a workshop presentation, I would prefer the following Length of Time for that session

The majority of workshop presentation sessions will be 45 minutes or 60 minutes long. NACSW has only a limited number of 90 minute workshop sessions. The 90 minute sessions are the most competitive.

I would prefer presenting a 45 minute workshop
I would prefer presenting for a 60 minute session
I would prefer  presenting for a 90 minute session
Either a 60 minute or 90 minute workshop session would be fine
Any length of time (45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes) would work for me

NACSW will make every effort to accommodate the length of time you have requested for your workshop session, although it reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the session's length based on the needs of the overall program.

Schedule Accommodation Based on Religious Observance

If my proposal is accepted, I would like to request that I not be placed on the schedule to present on Saturday (check here only if applicable)
