The focus of this session is two-fold. One area of focus is to provide participants with opportunities to learn a variety of methods to obtain a spiritual assessment from their clients. The other area of focus is to gain a better understanding of the role that spirituality has played and continues to play in the lives of individuals who are in recovery from substance addiction issues.

Presenter Bio: 

Barry Lee holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology (Chicago), is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Master of Social Work, University of Illinois at Chicago), Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor, and a Substance Abuse Professional for the state of Illinois. He is a Professor of Social Work with Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Illinois, having joined the faculty in 2008. Prior to joining Olivet's faculty, Lee spent 23 years providing various clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Currently, he is pursuing a dream to write a textbook related to the topic of mental health issues in social work.
